Composed by Nacho Cano and Orchestrated by Peter Hope, “Music for a wedding” was recorded on May 8 at the Teatro Real with the Madrid Symphony Orchestra.
“Alberto Ruiz Gallardón asked me to make music for the wedding as a gift from the Madrid City Council. I understood that, above all, it was a love story. To the romantic essence were added emotion and solemnity. The attacks of March 11, 2004 prevented the premiere of the piece in a large concert planned for the occasion. But his spirit, present before this tragedy, has remained intact as well as that of Madrid and that of all Spaniards. The final score looks like the music of a movie. But this time, the story is real. Perhaps the most Real of the stories “(Nacho Cano).
